Under The Big Tent For A Holiday Circus!

Hey party people! I know this last week before the holidays can be so stressful for us all, but everyone deserves a break, right?! So take a much deserved one and check out this awesome holiday party I planned for the Boston Consultant Group. This year for their annual shindig, we wanted to do something really fun so we went with a vintage circus theme and it rocked! We decided to host it at the Georgetown Ballroom— a PERFECT space for the theme!

We incorporated a lot of fun circus props with lots of black and red, all velvet linens, and of course, lights and candles everywhere! Believe it or not, I made the centerpieces! I ordered foam cylinders, painted the tops, and wrapped them with tickets, and I spray painted the animals in my backyard. I bought the popcorn boxes and added the flowers. I also got the cardboard cutouts for the photobooth and behind the band. I’m one crafty biotch!

Guests were greeted with champagne from the aerialist, and that was a huge hit! There were circus performers all around plus a really fun photo booth where guests could take souvenir photos. There were Chinese takeout containers filled with delicious food and the bar was stocked with five different types of whiskey— guests were invited to do a tasting later in the night to get some liquid courage to get out on the dance floor!

Every other year BCG does a charity auction at this party, so they started the event with a silent auction and raffle during cocktail hour. Then for dinner they did a live auction where they raised over $30,000 for Step by Step, which benefits mothers to be and their families both during and after their pregnancy. It was inspiring! Also, shout out to my best pal Jeeves who made the wooden pedestal, that I then painted, for the speakers to stand on!

In addition to the live circus entertainment, each balcony had a tarot card reader and we had a strolling palm reader, which was fun and guests got really into it. Then it was time to let loose on the dance floor after everyone had their fill of whiskey!

This party was a blast to plan and everyone seemed to love it! I had so much fun! Thank you to all of the vendors who made this event a night to remember.! Especially Barbie Hull & Chris Varnes for capturing the event so perfectly!!! And a huge special shout out to my girl Katie Parra who was my sidekick and assistant for the night! We also got to have a little fun with the photo booth ourselves :)
